In which Clover freaks out.
“Candy what am I going to do?” I asked my best friend in the whole world.
“I don’t know,” Candy Anderson told me
Candy and I have been friends ever since we were in fifth grade. We were in P.E class, and we saw that we both had this marking on our bodies. My marking is on my back, and Candy’s is on her legs. They’re silver or it just looks that way, most people think thats what it is but it’s really just iron. Every one has iron in there blood, but we have a mass of it in our blood. But that never stops anyone looking at us when they see it. It’s never is easy to live in a little town, but it is even harder to do so when you are a new born baby and everyone keeps asking ‘what is that? Is that a sliver tattoo on her back?” Ya that is the way it has been since I was a baby. Candy was just the same but she grew up in LA.
I saw her lags and she must have seen my back, we were friends even since that day.
Our dads work together. They are two out of seven people that work at the HVTWOR (Human Vs The World Of Realty) company. Our dads live at the company building most of the time, but sometimes they do live at their respective homes. But tonight Candy and I are going to this rave out in Clive River. Most people go out there to hang out.
“Clover, your making a big deal” Candy said “Come on you have four As, six Bs, and two Cs. That’s not that bad.”
“I know but come on,” I said “All he ever asked of me is that I have at least Five As, six Bs, and maybe a C here and there.”
“Your dad is not even around most of the time so how will he know how well you are doing?”
“He is having my grades sent over to his office from now on.” I said dejectedly.
“No shit,” Candy gasped.
“Ya,” I told her walking with her to her car at the end of the parking lot “And get this, he’s even trying to get your dad to do the same.”
“What?” Candy said climbing onto the back end of the car “Your dad fucks up everything.”
“Ya,” I said following her. “But than again I really can’t say anything about it, I mean he’s really not around, so I can’t be to mad at him, he gives me my space so…”
“Ya, My dad does the same,” Clover nodded.
“Hey Sweet things,” Came Carter’s voice behind us.
“Hey hot thing, who’s your friend, and what’s he doing with you?” Candy asked as she watched them walk from the front of the car towards the back.
“Nothing,” Carter said as he came to a stop next to us. “This is my new friend Rex.”
“Hey Rex my name is Candy and this is my sister, Clover.”
“Hi,” He said to both of us.
Candy and I were said to look like twin sisters, and we liked this. We both had pale skin and dark hair, our eyes were blue, hers being light blue, and mine being dark blue. That was how people could tell us apart.
Rex had pale skin too, but his hair was white and his eyes were dark blue like mine. His hair was spiked up around his ears and on top of his head. He wore a gold ring on his right ear,and his nose was lightly tanned from being out in the sun too long.
“Nice to meet you both,” Rex said
“Where you from?” I asked.
“I’m from New York,”
“I’m from LA,” Candy grinned.
“Good to know,” Rex smiled back.
“Hey Carter,” I said. “What are your grades?”
“Why do you care?” He asked defensively.
“She has two Cs.” Candy pointed out..
“O daddy not going to like that is he?” Carter smirked.
“No. He will not.” I sighed “Could you just tell me.”
“Aw yes I could but that would be no fun,” Carter jeered.
“No, it would just be nice.” I crossed my arms, and tapped my foot.
“Okay this is what I got,” Carter said “I have four Cs and eight Fs”
“God Carter what the hell do you do in class,” I asked bewildered.
“Sleep,” He said in a all knowing voice.
“I see,” I said as I stared to laugh
“As soon I fall you will come and save me from this hell and in its place give me this pain so no one could take your place”
A song sung from my pocket, it was my phone, and it sounded like I got a text from my dad.
“Nice song who is that sings it?” Rex asked.
“I don’t know.” I told him as I looked at my phone “I just found it on my computer one night and here it is.”
“Nice tattoo,” Rex said said, checking out my back as I turned to look at the text message.
“O thanks,” I said as I read the three words that ended my good mood.
Get home now!
“I have to go,” I sighed, “see you guys later.” I said getting off the car.
“I’ll give you a ride,” Candy offered.
“Thanks, sis.”
I walked over to the passenger side of the car and sat down on the soft cotton seats. It was a new car that had a sun roof and really cool air conditioning, which was great in the spring heat. We didn’t talk on the way to my house. The drive was a relatively short drive as I lived only a mile or two.
“Call me when you can.” She said as she pulled up to my house.
“Will do,” I said getting out of the car.
